Nino Darbaiseli

Nino Darbaiseli was born on March 8, 1961 in Tbilisi. She graduated from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, the faculty of philology. Her works have been published since 1974. However, her wide debut was in 1977, when her work was published in annual anthology of Georgian poetry “Day of Poetry”.

She was the editor-in-chief of “Science”, an edition of Georgian National Academy of Sciences (1990-1995). From 1994 to 1997, she was the Deputy Director of the Centre for Cultural Relations “Caucasian House”. She is the Doctor of Philology (PhD). Dissertation on the topic: “Georgian Verlibre” (1992). From 1999, Nino Darbaiseli was the senior scientific member of the staff at Shota Rustaveli Institute of Georgian Literature. From 2000, she has worked at Research Centre of Galaktionology. From 2001, she has been a secretary of periodical edition “Galaktionology”. She is included in the reference book “Who is Who among World Business and Art Women” (2002). Currently, she is living in USA.
