Poet, Translator

Kote Kubaneishvili was born in 1951 in Tbilisi. He has been actively involved in public work since the end of the 20th century. He first appeared in 1990 when “Reactive Club” collection was released. In 1999, he published a book “Independence” together with A. Darchiashvili. His poetry covers political and social events, which are of great significance for Georgia as well as the outer world. T-shirts with Kote Kubaneishvili’s verses and slogans became trendy among the Georgian youth for a long time. He has translated verses of American, British and Russian poets, in addition German ballades. Among his translations, we can distinguish Edgar Poe’s, Vladimir Mayakovsky’s and Osip Mandelstam’s poetry. The poet’s verses were published in journal “XX Saukune” (XX Century).
