Bacho Kvirtia

Fiction Writer, Dramatist, Scriptwriter

Bacho Kvirtia was born in 1974. In 1996, he graduated from Shota Rustaveli Theatre and Film Georgian State University, the Faculty of Drama Art (Tamaz Chiladze’s Studio). From 1994 his works have been published in various Georgian literary journals (“Literaturuli saqartvelo” (Literary Georgia), “Mnatobi” (Beacon), “Kari” (Door), “Arili”, “Parnasi” (Parnassus), “24 Saati” (24 Hours), “Literaturuli Palitra” (Literary Palitra), “Literatura-Tskheli Shokoladi” (Literature – Hot Chocolate), “Fokusi” (Focus), “Tskheli Shokoladi” (Hot Chocolate), “Kartuli Mtserloba” (Georgian Writings).) In 2008, “Radio 106” broadcasted the premier of the radio-play “From Dusk till Dawn”. From 1994 until 2004, he participated in young dramatis’ annual seminars. From 2003 till 2010 he participated in annual literary competition “Pen-Marathon”. In 2011-2012, he participated in a two-year project “New Writing Workshop” organized by British Council in partnership with M. Tumanishvili Foundation and Royal Court Theatre.
